Our Mission 

A Journey to Honor is a celebration of the natural hair, beauty, and cultural richness embodied by Black women, men, and children. Through this journey, we uplift the beauty of Black women—an experience often overshadowed by societal criticism and cultural appropriation. In our society, the essence of Black beauty is frequently reduced to stereotypes and caricatures. It is often dismissed as “ghetto,” “hood,” or “unprofessional,” only to be commodified and repackaged for mass consumption later. Natural Black hair is beautiful in its own right; it is glorious just for being itself. Blackness is natural, cultural, unique, daring, and innovative—truly the gold standard of all things exceptional.
